Ambidextrous palm swells and aluminum pillar construction polymer stock

Echoing the shape and ergonomics of the Mark V Backcountry 2.0 family of rifles that debuted earlier in 2021, the Hunter’s polymer stock features the same trim, flat-bottomed forend, ambidextrous palm swells, aluminum pillar construction and is finished in a Urban & Black Speckle.

Threaded 1/2×28 for use with a suppressor or brake, the Mark V Hunter’s barreled action is sealed under a shell of Cobalt Cerakote, shielding it from the elements. A deeply-fluted bolt with removable knob not only trims a little weight and helps clear dust and debris, it also reduces the bearing surface within the action resulting in smoother operation.

The Mark V Hunter is available in a wide range of cartridges, both Weatherby Magnum chamberings as well as American classics.

Designed to be the world’s strongest action, the Mark V has a signature multi-lug bolt system inspired by the interrupted thread style of lockup. Available in both Standard and Magnum action sizes, the Standard employs a six lug design while the beefier Magnum uses nine locking lugs, enabling these actions to safely chamber the hottest commercially-available cartridges on the market. Other safety features include three rings of steel around the base of the cartridge when it’s in battery, a fully-enclosed bolt shroud and three gas relief ports in the bolt body to vent pressure in the case of an ammunition failure.

  1. Terry Denman

Bought the Mark V .280 Ackley Improved put my Vortex Viper Vhs on and boresighted it. 4 shots to be center of of the 1 in bulls eye. This rifle will put the 162 gr Hornady in the, same bullet hole off a rifle rest and bench at 100 easy with the trigger at 2.5 I will be adding a muzzlebreak! The rifle has a great feel and tucks in perfect loved the .280 Remington and sure I will be very happy with this one!

  2. Arthur cheshire

I bought the mark v Hunter in 6.5rpm last year , love the mark v. I reload it with us869 powder, 140 grain eldm bullets for target & coyote , it shoots 1/2 moa , for big game I load rl25 powder, 143 grain Norma bondstrike bullet , very impressed with this bullet , less than 1/2 moa at 100 is very normal dime sized three shot groups are it’s speciality if I do my part , thanks Adam and rest of Weatherby team for an amazing rifle and the rpm family of calibers , can’t say enough about the 6 lug action , stellar light weight , strong , very smooth & superb accuracy …

  3. Randy Weaver

Just got done breaking in the barrel and sighting in my Mark V Hunter in .265 RPM and I am impressed. Like Ralph above, I put a Swarovski Z3 3-10X scope on mine. Took five shots (cleaned and oiled after each shot), gradually working my shots into the 1/2″ dot 2.5″ above the center of my target at 100 yds. After breaking in, I fired a 1/2-inch, three-shot group at 100 yards. Very handy, lightweight and accurate rifle, especially for the price; time to go hunting!

  4. Ralph Scherder

Purchased this mark v hunter in 7mm.remington magnum a month ago. Scoped it with a swarovski z3 3×10 and took it to the range. I had barnes tsx 160 gr and sako arrowhead 150 gr scirrocos for ammo. It sighted in perfectly and without issue. Both loads shot well, but the sako won with a half inch 3 shot group at 100 yds. Three days later I went again and fired 3 shots at 200 yds out of a cold barrel. The shots were on the bull and the group measured only one inch in diameter. The rifle itself is just what I’m looking for to use on rugged big game hunts. I consider this rifle a bargain for anyone interested
You can not go wrong with this efficiency.. Congratulations weatherby on another great rifle.

  5. Richard LEIGH

light weight 308 win with talley scope mounts and Bushnell scope total under 7lbs ,flat forearm bottom fits solidly on sand bags at the range, wide trigger forces me to pull straight rearward for improved shotgroups.reloading I am able to get 5 shot group under an inch on good days.I am pleased to purchase a Weatherby Mark V action rifle for under $1500.actual cost $1399.plus Pa sales tax.adjustable trigger is external easy to use and and metal parts protected by a cerakote finish.

  6. Kelly Howard

My Hunter model in 7mm Weatherby is now sighted and waiting for me to take it deer hunting. With Weather factory loads (140 grain tipped X bullets), the rifle is very accurate. The stock is very nice for a lower-priced Mark V. The trigger is remarkable!

  7. Farm boss

Just got my rifle a several weeks back and just received the muzzle break from CS witch was a great experience awesome service. My first impressions of the rifle is super light with a pencil barrel points nicely the action is a little sticky but shoukd improve in time with use and cleaning other than that for a $$$ Would liked to have seen more attention to detail to the barrel & stock my barrel touches one side of the stock . Can’t wait to take it to the range will see how it performs.
