The Alpine™ CT is built on Weatherby®’s newest bolt action rifle platform, the Model 307™. Meant to complement the historic Mark V® and Vanguard® lineups, the Model 307 action is a 2-lug, fully cylindrical action compatible with many aftermarket accessories. Model 307 is designed to accommodate the vast offerings of stocks, triggers, rails, and mounts that exist in today’s marketplace. Weatherby teamed up with PEAK 44 to produce an ultra-light rifle that can own the range and dominate in the field. The PEAK 44 Bastion stock weighs in at 24 ounces and uses a proprietary 3D-Hex recoil pad to reduce the effects of recoil. You’ll also find that the barrels on the Alpine MDT Carbon are shorter than our traditional offerings. The BSF carbon barrel delivers unmatched accuracy and comes with Weatherby’s Accubrake DST™ (Directional Self-Timing Brake).

Bought this a few months ago and it never shot hornady precision hunter 175 eldx ammo well. Started hand loading for it and it shoots .3-.5 5 shit groups consistantly. Very pleased with this rifle. No complaints other than

Had to order mine online due to no local shops having one in stock. I went with the 7 PRC. Topped it off with a night force SHV and the weight was at 8lbs 7oz , although going to change this for a lightweight Leupold. Took it to the range today and shot a box of Hornady 175 ELDX ammo. The first group was 1.987 inches, 2nd group 2.930 inches (little panic there), 3rd group 1.513 inches, 4th group was 1.739 inches (my wife shot this group), 5th group 1.375 inches, 6th and final group I shot today was 0.633 inches (fist pumped the air the whole walk back to the line).
Take note that I was also doing the break in process of cleaning the barrel during the first 10 shots then every 3 shot group again got the barrel cleaned. I did notice the fouling round was the one round that opened up the groups the two follow up shots after this were very close so just keep that in mind. This is also a new rifle to me, and I usually shoot 2 stage triggers so some of the initial bad groups were most likely me. The final group I felt the most comfortable and relaxed shooting the firearm, and the group shows it.
It should be noted in my experience with carbon barrels they get more and more accurate over time and shot count, that is my experience. This rifle was just like my other rifles that are carbon 280AI and 300PRC, proper barrel break in and the groupings seem to shrink with each next group. So, if you buy it thinking you’re going to shoot pin holes the first group, don’t count on it, or maybe you’re just that lucky or good. Do the break in process, trust the process and your rifle will break in nicely and shoot better then Weatherby claims it will.
All in all thanks to the Weatherby team for this build. I watched every video and listened to every podcast I could about this rifle before I ordered it. I have been really searching for a backcountry hunting rifle that’s light, looks super cool and shoots better than advertised. I am so glad I waited for this rifle and did not jump out and buy another brand that was easier to find. This rifle is going to be my new go to for just about everything, thanks Weatherby.

Got mine in 6.5PRC- paired it with an NX8. 8lbs 5oz and this baby shoots!
.5min groups are easy, with many just one ragged hole. This is during break in with test loads. I will be buying more.

Absolutely love this rifle! I paired it with a Nightforce Nx8 and boy does it perform! Only thing I wish it had, was a mag feed bottom metal. Otherwise, this rifle is hands down, best bang for buck!
