The Alpine MDT Carbon is built on Weatherby’s newest bolt action rifle platform, the Model 307. Meant to complement the historic Mark V® and Vanguard® lineups, the Model 307 action is a 2-lug, fully cylindrical action compatible with many aftermarket accessories. Model 307 is designed to accommodate the vast offerings of stocks, triggers, rails, mounts, and magazines that exist in today’s marketplace. Weatherby teamed up with MDT to produce an ultra-light chassis rifle that can own the range and dominate in the field. The carbon fiber chassis features a foldable buttstock and when collapsed cuts out over 9″ of total length making it a great compact option.  You’ll also find that the barrels on the Alpine MDT Carbon are shorter than our traditional offerings. The BSF carbon barrel delivers unmatched accuracy and comes with Weatherby’s Accubrake DST™ (Directional Self-Timing Brake).

Own the range and dominate in the field

Through years of innovation and testing, the Model 307 action features a bolt that was designed to have a tool-less disassembly which allows hunters and shooters to easily field strip their bolt if needed. The bolt is equipped with an M16-style extractor for positive extraction and reliable ejection. The Alpine MDT Carbon comes standard with an externally adjustable TriggerTech field trigger and PEAK 44 picatinny rail.

The Alpine MDT Carbon sits on MDT’s lightweight HNT26 Chassis System, which is their first purpose-built hunting rifle chassis. This stock provides all of the benefits one expects from a chassis system such as v-block bedding, adjustable length of pull, adjustable comb, and AICS magazine compatibility. Weighing in at just 26oz, the chassis is constructed of a magnesium alloy stock, carbon fiber forend, carbon fiber pistol grip, and carbon fiber buttstock. The forend has an integral ARCA rail for easy attachment to a tripod and a foldable buttstock for compact storage.

Available in standard short and long actions, the Alpine MDT Carbon not only offers some of Weatherby’s historic magnum cartridges but is also available in some of the most popular cartridges on the market.

The Alpine MDT Carbon is compatible with most after-market 700® platform parts, making it the most open platform in the Weatherby line-up. Proudly built at our headquarters here in Sheridan, WY.

BSF CARBON FIBER BARREL

THE PINNACLE OF CARBON BARRELS

BSF Barrels use carbon fiber in a way that no other carbon barrel manufacturer does, leading to unmatched accuracy and heat dispersion properties.

TENSIONED BARREL

After BSF turns down a 416R stainless steel match barrel they sleeve it with carbon fiber and load it under tension. Because it’s under tension, as the barrel heats up it keeps the rifling straighter, resulting in a stiffer, more rigid barrel. Most competitors use a wrapping method that has been proven to trap heat and cause delamination.

COOLER BARREL - CONSISTENT GROUPS

With BSF’s proprietary method, 95% of the carbon fiber does not touch the contoured barrel, creating air gaps and allowing air to foil around the steel and cool the barrel faster. The high quality carbon fiber is designed to move at the same expansion rate as the 416R stainless steel resulting in a vibration dampening effect. What does that mean? It means the carbon fiber absorbs the shock and vibration allowing more consistent groups.
