Cons: recoil when running waterfowl loads is extensive, not a lot of options for replacing the furniture and recoil pad that would reduce recoil, loading port needs to be beveled out especially for the price.
Pros: great feeling gun, point of impact is spot on, will run light loads along with higher velocity shells, easy take down to clean along with reassemble.
Overall a great gun! I have the 3 inch version.

Great shotgun and customer service from Weatherby; initially on getting home from BASSPRO where I had purchased my 18i, the safety was too stiff. Contacted Weatherby and they provided shipping, quickly fixed and returned to me. I’ve only shot two boxes of shells through it on Skeet, but it handled great, cycled evenly, and hit the target. Great shotgun; my Weatherby SA-8 is now the backup shotgun. Looking forward to seeing it perform with Upland game.

I purchased my 18i synthetic several months ago and have put several hundred rounds through it on clays and birds and the gun has performed flawlessly. Out of the box the gun would have been shotting slightly higher than I prefer so I changed the shims so that it shoots flat. Easy to do.
