How do you beat a 460 Weatherby,
You don’t, I’ve owned several and they are hands down the best.
Those old British rounds do not compare to the stopping power of the big 460

My family has had significant bear issues in our remote area of the North West. We though for sure that our 44Mag would be adequate protection. But after a significant encounter with a very large bear, the 44 only made things worse. So after a long dialogue with our regional Game Warden, it was clear that we needed a rifle and caliber which would be our best life insurance.

We got a Weatherby Mark V Safari in 416 Wby Magnum. We have learned to shoot it confidently and accurately. It will never see the African continent, but is right at home here where the dangers are just as real!

Ignoring the hype about unmanageable recoil. With the muzzle break, it is easier to shoot than my M70 in 338 Winchester.

I was running into very large pigs and after having one charge me at less than 5 yards, the 375 H&H just didn’t stop it. I turned to Weatherby several years ago and had a Euro Mark made by the custom shop. Two huge pigs later, both one shot kills…..its amazing to use a 416 Weatherby. Nothing runs…it blasts them so hard they just collapse.

  4. WESTERN MULE DEER HUNTER

TALKING TO 3 PROFESSIONAL HUNTERS- ALL SAID 416 IS THE BEST FOR DANGEROUS GAME- THE REASON I BOUGHT IT. TRACKING AND RUNNING INTO A PISSED OFF 650 LB LION AT 28 YARDS IN DENSE BRUSH-AFTER SEEING HOW TOUGH THEY ARE- 400 GRAIN DID NOT PASS THRU THE LION. GOING TO AFRICA – TAKE ENOUGH GUN. THE 416 IS THE BEST CHOICE. IF YOU ARE RECOIL SENSITIVE- DO NOT GO TO AFRICA AND HUNT DANGEROUS GAME. 3 OF 8 PEOPLE HELPING ME TRACK THIS LION HAD SCARS FROM PREVIOUS LION HUNTS. A TRULY THE MOST AWESOME HUNT AND RIFLE,
