The 7MM PRC was introduced in 2022 and is the newest addition to Hornady’s PRC (Precision Rifle Cartridge) line-up. The 7MM PRC was designed to push long, heavy bullets in a standard long action. These long bullets are known to have high ballistic coefficient which help keep accuracy at long range making them a great option for hunting in the west. Weatherby is known for ballistics and velocity, our 7MM PRC offerings push the industry standards on both.

Designed to push long, heavy bullets in a standard long action

The goal of the The 7MM PRC is a non-belted case that uses a standard bolt face and has a 30 degree shoulder. It has a larger diameter case than the standard 7 Rem Mag but has a shorter overall case length that allows the 7MM PRC to utilize longer, heavier bullets.

Berger Elite Hunter

Berger Elite Hunter

The Elite Hunter bullet is made with the longest possible hybrid ogive (nose). As the bearing surface ends, the tangent ogive begins, resulting in much less sensitivity to seating depth. As you move beyond the tangent ogive, the shape changes to a secant ogive, maximizing efficiency in the wind. The long-nosed Elite Hunter projectiles produce the highest possible Ballistic Coefficients. Elite Hunter bullets also incorporate a slightly thinner J4 Precision hunting jacket, which allows the projectile to penetrate 2″ to 3″ before rapidly expanding. Upon expansion, the projectile sheds most of its weight producing extreme hydrostatic shock and a massive wound cavity in the vital area. Berger Elite Hunter bullets dump their energy where it is most effective – inside the animal.
