With matte-finished metalwork and matching matte Turkish walnut stock, the Orion Matte Blue is right at home chasing birds, whether that’s chukar in the mountains or quail in the desert. Equipped with automatic ejectors that throw empty hulls clear of the chamber, the Orion is notable for its slim action that employs a set of sliding locking bars nestled in above those ejectors that result in less bulk than many similar over/unders. Fitted with 26″ or 28″ barrels in 12 gauge or 26″ in 20 gauge, the Orion Matte Blue has a vented top rib fit with a single brass bead and is shipped with a set of interchangeable chokes.

A versatile over/under shotgun

The Orion Matte Blue is a versatile over/under shotgun, so if you are splitting time between hunting and the sporting clays course this is the shotgun for you. It comes equipped with ambidextrous tang safety and barrel selectors so the shooter can choose which barrel choke combination they want to shoot depending on the bird presentation. Barrels are chrome lined to aid in long-lasting durability and make maintenance cleaning a breeze.

    I bought a Weatherby Orion Matte Blue about 6 months ago. First time at the trap range shot 24/25. Pretty good for an old guy I’m 68. I bought the shotgun with 26 inch barrels as I wanted a fast handling upland gun. Love the Prince of Wales stock and tough matte blue finish. Took to North Dakota for a pheasant hunt-first day 3/4 limit, second day 3/5 limit, third day 3/4 limit. This way better than l normally shoot. Love this gun. Many guns with Prince of Wales stock cost 3 times as much-IE Browning Citori. Thinking about buying an Orion Sporting.

    Orion® Sporting

    $1,149.00

    Versatile and adaptable, the Orion Sporting is fit with a four-way adjustable comb that greatly assists in making the shotgun come to shoulder perfectly each and every time. The Sporting’s longer 30″ barrels make for a much more deliberate swing and are ported to help reduce recoil and aid in transitioning to a second clay target. The vented rib helps dissipate heat and optical distortion when shooting volume climbs, and a fiber optic bead glows brightly in the sunlight. Automatic ejectors kick spent hulls from the chambers, and the extended and knurled chokes are easily swapped depending on the target presentation. Built to crush clays, the Orion Sporting can be purchased in 12 or 20-gauge.
