Description
“Speed kills” is a saying that is absolutely true when you’re talking about me. It describes the lethal velocities of the popular calibers I fire. However, there’s another speed you need when hunting – and that’s about getting on your target fast – particularly in heavy cover. Friends, that’s my forte. With a 20” carbine barrel combined with my ergonomic Monte Carlo stock, I snap to the shoulder quick and fix on your target faster as a hummingbird’s wings.

Hunternotshooter –
Got the WeatherGuard Carbine in 7mm-08, placed Weatherby lightweight ring/mounts and a Simmons 8 point 3×9 scope and went to the range with the rifle bore sighted, took me three shots to hit center bull, took 3 more shots at a fresh target, at 100 yards I had 2 almost in the same hole and one cutting the two, dead center of bull, I don’t know what MOA or sub-MOA is, but 3 shots touching at dead center at 100 yards certainly works for me. My .300 Weatherby Vanguard with a Nikon scope has always performed no issue and my Weatherby PA-08 slug gun is not only a piece of art, I can get 3 slugs touching at 50 yards with a Nikon scope at 5 power. Weatherby has me convinced, I’m a true believer now that value does not reflect quality. There is economical and there is “cheap”, Weatherby has an affordable firearm for any budget that will perform flawlessly out of the box, and years later. Can’t wait to go get my .240 Weatherby and a Vanguard in .308!
Jim –
As soon as I saw this version come out I knew it would be perfect in a tree stand. Sure enough I dropped a nice 8 point whitetail this year, 100 yards through the NY hardwoods, right through the neck. Only Weatherby gives you the confidence to even try that shot from a tree stand. I chose the 308 just in case a black bear comes by. The 150 great Sierra will shoot under an inch from this barrel once you find the accuracy nodes.
