The perfect melding of accuracy and low mass
Registering an impressive 5.3 lb starting weight, the Backcountry 2.0 Ti Carbon combines a titanium action with the new Peak 44™ Blacktooth™ stock — the lightest production carbon fiber stock on the market.
Aiding in both weight and recoil reduction is the second generation 3DHEX® recoil pad, the first production 3D printed pad the firearms world has seen. Hidden inside the pad are a series of interlocking voids that progressively collapse during recoil, expanding the time component of the recoil impulse and deadening the sharp kick of magnum chamberings.
More pronounced spiral fluting on the bolt body not only trims a little weight, it also reduces bearing surface within the action and results in even smoother function. The newly-threaded bolt handle is equipped with a lightweight aluminum extended, skeletonized knob.
Fit with a titanium version of Weatherby’s highly-effective Accubrake® ST, this brake is blended to match the profile of the #4 carbon fiber barrel. With 30 symmetrically-spaced ports that help harness the recoil, it tames even magnum chamberings and makes them pleasant to shoot.
With exposed carbon fiber on both the barrel and the stock and raw titanium on the action, all other metalwork is sealed away behind a black ceramic Cerakote® shell. The stock complements the two-tone action with a white and grey pattern to help break up the gun’s lines in the field.
Combining supremely light weight and a superb barrel system, the Backcountry 2.0 Ti Carbon is the perfect melding of accuracy and low mass.

Ordered mine in a 6.5×300 and absolutely love it. Shooting the 130gr Swift Scirocco, it drives tacks and does its job on deer too. Two huge whitetails last year dropped in their tracks with one shot each. Heading to Wyoming, then Alberta before returning to Wisconsin this year.

I also got the 300 Wby in the Thinhorn edition at a Wild Sheep banquet. It shot halh-inch groups with Weatherby ammo in 195 grain Hammer. Awesome!!!

My wife was the high bidder for this rifle in a “Thinhorn” edition at a FNAWS banquet and gave it to me. I elected to get it in the 300 Weatherby chambering and it shoots lights out! Absolutely love this gun!

Although quite pricey, this would make a fabulous Sheep rifle and lightweight backpack hunting rifle. Not chambered in .270 Winchester though. Very odd.
