I purchased my DGR in 2019 at the factory outlet shop soon after they moved to Sheridan. I was hunting antelope in Wyoming and stopped in to see the new factory. Had been wanting a DGR in .375 Weatherby, but they were long-discontinued in that calibre. Lo and behold mine was on the shelf as a discontinued close-out calling my name.. Couldn’t get my wallet out fast enough!
Fast forward five years, and I took a beautiful water buffalo in Argentina with that rifle and a single round of 300 Nosler Partition. Weatherby has gone in a different direction since then. Wish they still made rifles in cartridges for a variety of tastes and styles, even if limited production.

This is the best Weatherby rifle ever built! I love my .460WM DG much more than my old Mark V also in .460WM, which had only a ported barrel and was really a pain to shoot! The DGR delivers sub MOA accuracy with every bullet between 300-500gr, and with a large aftermarket brake it is a pleasure to shoot also with full house loads (and no danger of a cracking wooden stock!). It was a wrong decision to stop production!

Purchased a new DGR in 2019. Much more comfortable to shoot than my mkV delux thanks to the excellent brake. 460 ammo is a bit expensive so my reloading hobby has allowed me to do alot of practice. Very accurate with everything I have fed it from 300gr Barnes tsx to 500 gr tsx. Shot a nice 40” Cape buffalo in Tanzania. Not sure who was more impressed, me or my PH. Dropped dead in his tracks. Three plus one cartridge capacity is comforting when hunting dangerous game. Anyone suggesting a 460 is too much should try one of these. I am 73 and will continue to hunt with and shoot this fine gun for a long time.
