The 280 AI was developed by Parker Otto (P.O.) Ackley. P.O. was a lot like Roy Weatherby, a wildcatter who was in search of better solutions. His 280 AI set out to improve the .280 Rem by steeping the shoulder to 40 degrees to increase powder capacity.
